I am a registered sole-practitioner architect based in Mullumbimby, Northern NSW, with over 25 years of experience.

After graduating  from the University of Sydney in 1995,  I worked at Hassell's Sydney office working on prominent public buildings including the Olympic Park Rail Station, the North Sydney Pool refurbishment, Qantas Domestic Terminal and more.

I was the first Associate appointed at William Smart Design (now Smart Design Studio) and had the privilege of working on a wonderful range of residential, commercial and retail fitout projects.

In 1999, I co-founded Davis Yee Architects in Zetland, Sydney. This practice  focused on residential and small commercial projects, re-locating to the Byron Shire in 2005.

Vanessa Yee Architect commenced in 2010. Since then I have completed numerous projects in the Ballina, Byron & Tweed Shires, the Gold Coast and Sydney.

I enjoy a collaborative approach to design and construction. I build strong relationships and work closely with my clients to help realise their vision for their new home, whilst overlaying functional planning and aesthetics. The interior design evolves concurrently with the overall form and layout of the building so everything ties together in a cohesive way. I particularly enjoy the detailing of the kitchen, bathrooms and joinery as these areas are integral to the functionality, liveability & character of the home. I prefer to act as a guide to finding the best solution for my clients rather than imposing my own taste and style on the project. This results in each of my completed projects having a distinctive quality due to the collaboration between the architect, client, sub-contractors and builder.
